Many divers learned during entry-level training to evaluate buoyancy while wearing a full tank. That method is acceptable as a coarse buoyancy evaluation for training purposes, but certified divers should use a more precise method technique. The correct method is to adjust your weighting so you can hover motionless at a depth of 15 feet with about 300 psi of air in your cylinder and no air in your BC.
